AFP secures $2.7M forfeiture

CCTV funds for Hobart shule

Funding has been announced for Australia’s oldest synagogue in Hobart to improve security. Security is being stepped up at Australia’s oldest synagogue, thanks to a $216,000 grant from the federal government. Tasmania Fire Service attended a structure fire at 256 George Town Road, Rocherlea last night.  

Monday 11.00pm Update: Tasmania Police have provided a statement, they say: At approximately 7:40pm the Tasmanian Fire Service and Tasmania Police were tasked to attend a structure fire at Recycal Launceston situated at 256 George Town Road in Newnham. Police crack down on electric scooter misuse

Uber hold up

Shortly after midnight this morning Tasmania Police attended McDonalds Sandy Bay car park in response to an attempted robbery. Two offenders held up an Uber driver with a screwdriver but departed empty handed. The offenders were located by Police a short time after nearby.
